CHANGEOVER

Thanks to their flexibility, SMI rotary stretch-blow molders are the ideal solution for those who want to produce several types of containers by using the same machine model.
First of all, the access to the components and to the moving organs is very easy, being possible from two sides of the machine, thanks to large, vertically sliding doors. Moreover, the changeover times are minimized; therefore, it is possible to re-start the production immediately. The parameters for each container are stored in the POSYC control panel and the operator can select the container type directly on the touch screen.

The mechanical adjustments, the replacement of the molds and of any other components, if necessary, require few minutes and can be carried out by using the set of tools supplied with the machine.

The changeover procedure consists of a few simple operations: opening of the mold-holder (1), removal of each half mold (2) by loosening three screws, change of the mold bottom (3) by means of a mechanical hook (4) driven by a pneumatical device (5), replacement of the stretching rod lock and selection of the new type of container from the POSYC control panel.
